About Samuel

Samuel is only 14 years old and goes to school in Wantage in Oxfordshire.

Just like his parents and grand parents Samuel was an avid Formula 1 and like most following his hero Lewis Hamilton.  He also like any other fan wanted to be a driver himself and Just four years ago as a Christmas present his Aunt took him to have a go at an indoor kart track and he loved it. He instantly wanted another go and also wanted to race.  No one in the family had raced before so we began to try and find out how to get him started. He started with the Shenington Kart clubs "lets go karting" program which allows kids to try a proper race kart on a full circuit and  then thanks to a very generous Gran and Grandad he got his own Kart. Just a few months later in June 2015 Samuel had gained his race license and he started to race once a month at Shenington in the Honda Cadet class gradually getting faster as he gained more experience. What began as a bit of fun began to get more serious as he began to push himself to succeed. In his second full year and after winning the Camberley Kart Club winter championship he wanted to move up to race in the British Championship. This was a very tough year but Samuel stuck with it and learnt a lot.  This was also his final year in the cadet class and 2018 would see him move up to the full size karts. This was also physically quite a big differrence and Samuel had to work on his physical strength to handle the demand of the full size kart with so much more powere and grip than he was used to from cadets.  He could have raced in the lower powered Mini X30 class for a year to gain experience but decided jump straight in at the deep end and the Junior X30 class racing against drivers up to 15 years old. At this time we also decided to Join the MSport Kart team to give Samuel the very best help to develop as a driver. For 2018 Samuel again competed in the British Championship. Samuel gained speed and confidence throughout the year and began to move forward in the results against his more experienced rivals.

For 2019 Samuel stayed with the MSPORT Team but he has now moved up European Championship competing in the Winter Cup in Valencia and then the first round in Belgium of the european championship. We then switched to the British championship for the rest of the season. After a tough start Samuel consistently moved forward and by the end of the championship was regularly in the top ten. By the end of the season Samuel had done enough to qualify for the international final held at Le Mans in France.   We were really pushed to get Samuel to this but he had a great run over the nine days and came home with a 12th place in the grand final. We are now looking to put the funds together for Samule to compete in the championship next year where he has a genuine shot at winning the champonship.
